When my daughter was born, she ened up in the NICU for a few days.  I will never forget the feeling that this little girl isn’t going to be like her easy going brother.  At 10:30pm the day she was born, she was quickly wisked away to the NICU.  After the initial shock and the next day finding out she would probably be ok, we realized, we had a princess on our hands.  Her first year of life left me tearfully calling a friend while she screamed in the background.  She is now 4 1/2.  Her favorite color is pink, her outfit always needs to be “cute”, she loves jewelry, and painting her nails.  She is also the no nonsense kind of princess who has issues with compromising.  Yet, this little tough cookie is the sweetest, most thoughtful girl I know (adults included).

This little princess loves her “pretties” and likes bows in her hair.  I came across this giveaway and had to pass it along.  If you are going to have a baby girl, or have a little girl, this is for you.  Barefoot Mommy is hosting a giveaway for A Soldier’s Flowers.  Angela makes the cutest hair bows you have to see!  While you are at it, put in your comment on Barefoot Mommy for a $30 gift certificate.

The Pregnant Girl’s Little Black Dress

Coco Chanel “invented” the little back dress back in 1926. Ever since it has been a staple in any woman’s wardrobe. If you have a baby growing in your belly, that is no excuse. When i was pregnant with my first, i had an event that required me to hit the streets looking for a little black dress. i found one that i loved and looked amazing on me. It was even marked down quite a bit…score!! This dress has seen me through all three pregnancies with ease. Talk about a serious staple!

The dress is from Kiki’s Fashions.  It has a low V shaped back.  The detail on the front is rhinestones.  it is 95% Cotton 5% Polyester which makes it comfortable to wear and more versatile from night to day.  i think maternity clothes should always be versatile because they aren’t worn for too long of a time so you want all the bang for your buck.

On the right side is more the evening look.  A low kitten heel is perfect for the pregnant mama that doesn’t want to give up her heels but still in the safe range.  Your center of gravity shifts and we don’t want you in the ER because you HAD to wear heels and feel over.  Aren’t the bracelets great?  i saw them and want them!!  The ones with faces are from Nina Valkhoff (most of the site is another language although there is a small English portion).  The red one (which i want also!) is from My Prestigium.  Top off the outfit with some nice chandelier earrings.  A little classy and a little attitude.  Just some advice, you might want to pull on your favorite black shawl.  One of the first rules to dressing a pregnant body, layers, layers layers.

For day time, pair it with some fun ballet slippers, a cute pair of earrings (these are from Claire’s), and a cardigan.  Whahlaa!  Day to evening and evening to day.
